Yazoo County has won four straight games at home, while Humphreys County has won four straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. Yazoo County will welcome Humphreys County at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Yazoo County barely beat Benton Academy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Yazoo County blew past Benton Academy 21-7 on Thursday. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Raiders recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Yazoo County got a massive performance out of Parker Barron, who went 4-for-5 with one home run and seven RBI. Those seven RBI gave Barron a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Graelan Shaffer, who got on base in four of his six plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and four RBI.
Meanwhile, while Humphreys County put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Amanda Elzy. Humphreys County put the hurt on Amanda Elzy with a sharp 15-0 victory.
Christopher Lowe made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Lowe was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Percy Jefferson, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-2. Xaylen Henderson was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
Humphreys County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.1 runs over those games. Yazoo County now has a winning record of 8-7.
Everything went Yazoo County's way against Humphreys County in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Yazoo County made off with a 15-0 victory. Will Yazoo County repeat their success, or does Humphreys County has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
