Abington Friends's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 69-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of Carver High School of Engineering & Science. While losing is never fun, Abington Friends can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 326th, while Carver High School of Engineering & Science is ranked 73rd).
Carver High School of Engineering & Science's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Anthony Brown, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds. Those 16 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Fareed Brown, who scored 18 points.
Abington Friends has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for Carver High School of Engineering & Science, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 9-1.
Abington Friends is on the road again on Friday and play against George School at 5:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Carver High School of Engineering & Science won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Pennington at 3:00 p.m. on December 30th.
