The Odem Owls's game last Tuesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top against Taft by a score of 63-55. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Taft lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Trae Garcia, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Villalobos, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
Odem pushed their record up to 12-15 with that win, which was their third straight at home. As for Taft, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 18-12.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing George West the next time they take the court. Odem will host George West at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Taft will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
