The Whitko Wildcats entered their tilt with the Rochester Zebras with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Whitko managed a 46-41 victory over Rochester on Saturday. For Whitko, this counts as revenge for the 36-27 loss Rochester walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.
Whitko's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kloe Krieg, who scored 13 points. Krieg hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Gwen Howard, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.
Several Zebras players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ella McCarter, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds. Jadyn Field was another key contributor, scoring four points along with 13 rebounds.
Whitko's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.2 points per game. As for Rochester, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-9.
Whitko will be playing at home against Lakewood Park Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Rochester, they will head out on the road to face off against Logansport at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Logansport is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.
