South Spencer is 8-2 against Tell City since May of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Rebels will face off against the Marksmen at 7:00 p.m. South Spencer is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

South Spencer couldn't beat Evansville Harrison on Monday even though they stacked four runs on them in the first inning. The Rebels fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 9-8. While the Rebels didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Warriors 4-0 in the first period.

South Spencer saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Denver Epperson, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Another was Logan Trone, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Tell City came out on top against South Central on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run third inning. The Marksmen put the hurt on the Rebels with a sharp 7-1 victory. The Marksmen haven't had any issues with the Rebels recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Jack Hammond spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Tell City is 4-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 5-10 otherwise.

Tell City's victory bumped their record up to 9-12. As for South Spencer, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-13.

Tell City's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: South Spencer hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .316. It's a different story for Tell City, though, as they've only averaged .238. Will they be able to contain South Spencer's hitters?

Everything went South Spencer's way against Tell City in their previous matchup back in April, as South Spencer made off with an 11-3 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rebels since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
