Highlands extended the longest winning streak in 4A District 7 this week by beating Holmes, 57-28. The victory was the eighth in a row for the team.
Covington Catholic led the league in scoring this week after putting up 61 points on Harrison County.
The Colonels' Blake Bir and Evan Braun have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Bir has thrown for 1445 yards this season, while Braun, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 22 catches for 366 yards. The Thorobreds' Deshon Talbott leads the league in rushing yards with 376.
A big matchup in 4A District 7 this week will be when the Bulldogs take on Covington Catholic. Holmes is in third place, while Dave Wirth's team is in second place.
Harrison County made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 10,097 from 10,835. The improvement came about via a 61-0 victory over Mark Carroll's team last week.
