Beavercreek is 8-2 against Fairmont since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Beavers will square off against the Firebirds at 5:00 p.m. Beavercreek will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
While Beavercreek's win against Wayne wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Beavers had just enough and edged out the Warriors 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Beavers have posted since March 22nd.
The team relied heavily on Brylee Greene, who went 2-for-3 with two triples and three runs. Those two triples gave her a new career-high.
Meanwhile, Fairmont hadn't done well against Centerville recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Firebirds walked away with a 9-5 win over the Elks. The victory continues a trend for the Firebirds in their matchups with the Elks: they've now won three in a row.
Jaylin Turner was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off ten hits. Turner was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Paige Russell was incredible, going 2-for-5 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Hannah Perdue was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Fairmont kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive matchups.
Fairmont's record is now 7-4. As for Beavercreek, the win got them back to even at 7-7.
Beavercreek was able to grind out a solid victory over Fairmont in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 4-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Beavers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
