Basketball Recap: Vistamar Snags Sixth Victory in Last Seven Games

If Samueli Academy wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Vistamar, they should've done a better job of containing Isaiah Hill. The Vistamar Vikings walked away with a 57-50 win over the Samueli Academy Firewolves on Wednesday thanks in part to Hill, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. The matchup was his 13th in a row with at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Sebastian Eckstein, who went 5 for 12 on his way to 14 points along with seven boards and three steals. Eckstein is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season.

Julian Chanelo and Haset Seyoum certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Chanelo posted 14 points, while Seyoum earned 11 points. Zack Castruita was another key player, putting up six points.

Vistamar is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. As for Samueli Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-8.

Vistamar didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 47-40 defeat against California Academy of Math & Science on the 14th. As for Samueli Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 52-47 loss against Newport Christian on the 10th.
