The Olympia Titans fought the good fight in their overtime match against the East Ridge Knights on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 64-57 to the Knights. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Several Titans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Arlinda Roundtree, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 16 rebounds. Roundtree has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times she's played. Ava Pazos was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Hailey Hunt was her usual excellent self, scoring 29 points along with six rebounds and two steals for East Ridge. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hunt has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tychelle Gordon, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 19 rebounds.
Olympia now has a losing record at 7-8. As for East Ridge, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Olympia won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Poinciana at 6:30 p.m. on January 23rd. East Ridge won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Tavares at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd.
