The Ironwood Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They were beaten by Kellis 76-34. Ironwood has not had much luck with Kellis recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Kellis found their leader in underclassman Shanielle Mallory, who scored 23 points along with six assists and two steals. Mallory is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last eight games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeorgia Parks- rodriquez, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Ironwood has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. As for Kellis, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 16-3.
Ironwood won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Apollo at 5:30 p.m. on January 12th. Kellis won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Sunrise Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on January 12th. Sunrise Mountain is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
