Rickards hasn't had much luck against North Florida Christian recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Rickards Raiders will be playing at home against the North Florida Christian Eagles at 4:00 p.m. Rickards has given up an average of 8.8 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
Rickards lost 21-5 to Aucilla Christian on Thursday. The Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Arriana Wilson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Zamiah Palmer, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, North Florida Christian put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Blountstown by a score of 10-6. While the Eagles didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Skylar Young made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and one unearned) runs off 12 hits. Young was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-4. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brynlee Pafford, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Hayden Stone, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.
North Florida Christian pushed their record up to 4-0 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Rickards, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
Friday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Rickards has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .511. However, it's not like North Florida Christian struggles in that department as they've averaged .451.
