Basketball Game Preview: Franklinton Red Rams vs. Nash Central Bulldogs

Franklinton is 6-1 against Nash Central since December of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Franklinton Red Rams are taking a road trip to take on the Nash Central Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. Franklinton has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 203 points over their last three matchups.

Franklinton will head into Saturday's contest on the come-up: they were handed a heart-breaking three-point loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Oxford Prep last Saturday. Franklinton took their match with ease, bagging a 77-17 victory over Oxford Prep. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Red Rams as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.

Franklinton can attribute much of their success to Kirby Ransom, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds, and Darius Slankard, who went 6 for 9 en route to 12 points along with six boards and four steals. Those 12 points gave Slankard a new career-high. Zymir Lipscomb was another key player, putting up ten points and three steals.

Franklinton was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Nash Central ended up a good deal behind Southern Nash on Friday and lost 60-45. The defeat continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Firebirds: they've now lost nine in a row.

Nash Central's loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Franklinton, their record is now 7-9.

Franklinton and Nash Central were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in December of 2024, but Franklinton came up empty-handed after a 53-52 defeat. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Nash Central's Gerald Davis, who went 10 of 15 on his way to 22 points and four steals.
