The South Aiken Thoroughbreds's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Josey Eagles at 1:30 p.m. on December 28th. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
On Wednesday, South Aiken lost to Laney on the road by a decisive 55-36 margin. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as South Aiken came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 67th in South Carolina, while Laney is ranked 238th in Georgia).
The losing side was boosted by Zanayia Harrison, who scored 12 points. Rheanna Elam was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Meanwhile, after a string of eight wins, Josey's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They took a 46-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of North Augusta. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Josey has scored all season.
South Aiken has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-5 record this season. As for Josey, their loss dropped their record down to 9-2.
