The Booker Tornadoes won against the Venice Indians last Wednesday with 61 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. Booker came out on top against Venice by a score of 61-48. Winning may never get old, but Booker sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Jovan Palavra was his usual excellent self, scoring 19 points. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last five games he's played. Jamareon Ruffin was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Venice lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Deylen Platt, who scored 15 points. Another player making a difference was Chad Fleming, who scored 12 points along with five assists and two steals.
Booker has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 10-9 record this season. As for Venice, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Booker's road trip will continue as they head out to face Bayshore at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th. Hopefully Bayshore focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Tuesday. As for Venice, they will head out on the road to square off against Lemon Bay at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lemon Bay is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
