Navarro fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Cuero on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Gobblers by a score of 7-6. The Panthers' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Austin Davidson was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in four of his six plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Emerson Elder, who got on base in four of his six plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Navarro's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 15-6. As for Cuero, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-9.
