The Nease Panthers will take on the Baldwin Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Nease is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.
Nease lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Ponte Vedra, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's contest. The Panthers put the hurt on the Sharks with a sharp 14-4 victory on Tuesday. With that win, the Panthers brought their scoring average up to 6.6 runs per game.

Sydney Davis made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Alanna Doherty was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Sophia Matt was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-4.
Nease kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. They are 3-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Baldwin fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Baker County on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 5-4. The Indians' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.
Hayden Peebles spent all 7.1 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on ten hits and racked up ten Ks.
On the hitting side, Makaila Fry stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went 2-for-4 with one home run. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Raven Watson, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 3-for-4.
Baldwin's defeat dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Nease, their victory bumped their record up to 6-7.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Nease has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.1 hits per game. However, it's not like Baldwin struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.4 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance. Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
