Volleyball Recap: Westover Christian Academy Starts off Right with Win over C.H. Friend

Westover Christian Academy had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the C.H. Friend Red Jackets.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Westover Christian Academy took every set by at least 16 points. The final score came out to 25-6, 25-9, 25-6.

Westover Christian Academy can attribute much of their success to LaiCie Walker, who had seven digs and three aces. Those three aces gave Walker a new career-high.

Walker wasn't the only good server: Westover Christian Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 29 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in four consecutive games dating back to last season.

Westover Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 loss against New Covenant on the 21st. C.H. Friend has also already played their next contest (against Brunswick Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
