Softball Recap: Enloe Continues Road Dominance on Tuesday

Enloe waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Sanderson Spartans with a sharp 26-9 victory. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won four contests by 15 runs or more so far this season.

Avery Modlin was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out 16 batters over six innings while giving up six earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in five of her six plate appearances. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Enloe let Lilly Watson and Madison Young run wild. Watson went 4-for-5 with six RBI, four runs, and two stolen bases, while Young scored four runs and stole five bases while going 2-for-3. Those two hits gave Young a new career-high. Madison Haga was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of her six plate appearances.

Enloe always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .623. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sanderson only posted an OBP of .379.

Enloe's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-4. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Sanderson, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Enloe will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Spartans: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
