Veritas Christian Academy can attribute much of their success to Lee Burgess, who almost dropped a double-double with 19 points and nine steals, and Owen Foote, who went 10-for-25 on his way to 27 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. Those three steals gave Foote a new career-high. Easton Bishop was another key player, putting up five points along with nine boards and five steals.
Meanwhile, Bethel Christian Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 61-56 to The Franklin School of Innovation. While the Crusaders didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Thunderbolts 16-8 in the first quarter.
Veritas Christian Academy will have to contain Jacob Smith as he made an impact in Bethel Christian Academy's last game. He shot 43% from the field en route to 24 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Hughes, who posted 18 points and six boards.
Bethel Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Veritas Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Veritas Christian Academy has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 28.2 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Bethel Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 31.2 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
