The School of the Ozarks Patriots were the 45-34 winner over the Classical Saints when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. School of the Ozarks fell 45-36 to Classical on Saturday. School of the Ozarks has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.
School of the Ozarks' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Holland Houston, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds, and Faith Martin who scored seven points along with two steals. Martin continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Classical to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nevi Wilkey, who scored 20 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wilkey has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Flannery Black, who scored 11 points along with five steals.
School of the Ozarks' loss dropped their record down to 14-6. As for Classical, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season.
School of the Ozarks will be playing at home against Everton at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Everton is coming into the contest with nine straight losses on the road, meaning School of the Ozarks will have to defend against a team hungry for a win. As for Classical, they will take on Goessel at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Classical focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Saturday.
