Middle Creek has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Holly Springs Golden Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Middle Creek focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, it was a hard-fought match, but Middle Creek had to settle for a 43-40 defeat against the Patriots. While losing is never fun, Middle Creek can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 201st, while the Patriots are ranked 100th).
Middle Creek might have lost, but man, Brandon Ihle was a machine: he scored 23 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ihle has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Yasir Hall, who scored four points.
Meanwhile, Holly Springs scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Green Hope 82-49 on the road.
Middle Creek's loss dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Holly Springs, their victory bumped their record up to 14-5.
Middle Creek came up short against the Golden Hawks when the teams last played back in January, falling 48-44. Can Middle Creek avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
