It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Quartz Hill Royals can now relate to. They took a 75-69 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Timberwolves. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Thursday (64), Quartz Hill still had to take the loss.
Quartz Hill's loss on Wednesday came despite strong showings from Ty'Jahwuan Jackson and Jaidyn Norman. Jackson dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds, while Norman scored 26 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Norman has been hot recently, having posted 17 or more points the last seven times he's played. Jerimiah Williams was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five steals and two blocks.
Northwood's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ryan Abaye, who scored 19 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Abaye has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sidd Raj, who scored 20 points along with three steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Quartz Hill and nudges their season record down to 16-12. As for Northwood, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 22-7 record this season.
Quartz Hill does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Northwood will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Huntington Beach at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th. Northwood is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 64.7 points per game this season.
