The home team had won the previous three meetings between South Webster and Valley, and South Webster kept the tradition alive. The Jeeps had just enough and edged out the Indians 3-2 on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Jeeps have posted since August 29, 2024.
Newark Catholic better focus on containing Emma Campbell and Addi Claxon as the pair were huge in South Webster's win. Campbell had eight digs and eight assists, while Claxon had 25 digs, 11 kills, and four aces. Those eight assists gave Campbell a new career-high. Chloe Milligan also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Saturday's contest: Newark Catholic hasn't let much over the net this season, having averaged 4.1 blocks per game. It's a different story for South Webster, though, as they've been averaging only 0.7 blocks. Given Newark Catholic's sizable advantage in that area, the Jeeps will need to find a way to close that gap.
Newark Catholic might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from South Webster in their previous meeting back in November of 2021. Can the Green Wave avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
