The Seymour Indians will head out on the road to take on the Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia Trojans at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
Rushville-Industry hit Seymour with a five-run fourth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Indians took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rockets. The Indians haven't had much luck with the Rockets recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
Meanwhile, Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia got the win against North Mac on Thursday by a conclusive 17-4. Considering the Trojans have won 18 contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Addilynn Tracy made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Tracy was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Addison Rohn was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Raye Greenstreet, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive matchups.
Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Seymour, their loss dropped their record down to 13-13-1.
Seymour came up short against Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia in their previous matchup two weeks ago, falling 9-4. Can the Indians avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
