On Friday, East Grand Rapids lost to Whitehall on the road by a decisive 70-52 margin. While losing is never fun, East Grand Rapids can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 202nd, while Whitehall is ranked third).
Camden Thompson was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 14 rebounds for Whitehall. The matchup was Thompson's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kal Koehler, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for East Grand Rapids and nudges their season record down to 3-4. As for Whitehall, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.
