The Bishop Kenny Crusaders's homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Wakulla War Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Bishop Kenny had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They never let the Jaguars onto the board and left with a 2-0 win. That's two games straight that Bishop Kenny has won by exactly two goals.
They were led to victory by the tag-team duo of
Carson Cope and
Shawn Selfors, who scored both of Bishop Kenny's goals. The pair have combined for a total of 15 so far this season.
Meanwhile, Wakulla sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over Bay on Tuesday.
Bishop Kenny pushed their record up to 10-7-3 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those six contests. As for Wakulla, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 8-11-2 record this season.
Bishop Kenny was able to grind out a solid win over Wakulla in their previous meeting back in February of 2022, winning 2-0. Does Bishop Kenny have another victory up their sleeve, or will Wakulla turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
