The Northland Prep Academy Spartans struggled with offensive rebounds on Wednesday (the Glendale Prep Academy Griffins had 13 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Northland Prep Academy fell 35-23 to Glendale Prep Academy. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Northland Prep Academy of the 39-32 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2023.
Despite the loss, Northland Prep Academy still got an impressive performance from Noe Rhon, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Senna Smith continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Glendale Prep Academy, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 19 rebounds. Smith has been hot recently, having posted ten or more rebounds the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Madelyn Elwood, who scored four points along with 12 rebounds and two steals.
Northland Prep Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Glendale Prep Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season.
Northland Prep Academy will be playing at home against Phoenix Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Northland Prep Academy's favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home while Phoenix Christian has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road. As for Glendale Prep Academy, they will face off against Highland Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Glendale Prep Academy will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Highland Prep surely won't give up without a fight.
