Milford Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 68-40 loss at the hands of the Bayview Christian Seahawks. One positive for the Conquerors, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.
Despite the loss, Milford Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Esdras Mateo posted 15 points in addition to seven boards and seven steals. Mateo has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last four times he's played. Keegan Fitzwater was another key player, putting up eight points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Even though they lost, Milford Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in four consecutive contests.
Milford Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Bayview Christian, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-4.
