The Riverside Beavers had to hit the road for their first game and sadly it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They were the victim of a rough 84-61 defeat at the hands of Holy Name on Saturday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Several Beavers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kyle Harden, who scored 11 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals. Another player making a difference was Ashton Montgomery, who scored 6 points along with 5 rebounds.
Riverside's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Holy Name, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Riverside will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Solon at 7:00 p.m. As for Holy Name, they will head out on the road to face off against North Ridgeville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
