Athens' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nick Clemens, who scored 11 points. Those 11 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Heath Tigges, who scored ten points.
Bangor's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-5. As for Athens, their loss was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-9.
Bangor will square off against Comstock at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Athens, they will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Philip Catholic Central at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Philip Catholic Central presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Athens in Michigan (St. Philip Catholic Central is ranked 303rd, while Athens is ranked 715th).
