Everything came up roses for Hillsboro against Hillwood on Thursday as the squad secured a 61-14 win. Followers of Hillsboro probably expected little less of the team in a season in which they have collected three blowout victories.
Hillsboro's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 40 points in the first half. Hillwood countered with 14 points, leaving the score at 40-14 going into the half. Hillsboro put the matchup away in the third quarter with 15 points from the offense and zero points allowed from the defense. The contest pushed Hillwood down to 3-6 and pulled Hillsboro up to the reverse at 6-3.
Both teams are staying within the conference for their upcoming matches. In two weeks Hillsboro take on Hunters Lane at 7:00 PM. Hillsboro are cruising in on a three-game winning streak while Hunters Lane are stumbling in off of nine consecutive losses. Hillwood will have some time to rest before their next game, which is against Beech at 7:00 PM.
