Kassidy King was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other pitching news, Molly Fitzpatrick looked comfortable as she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one walk in 13 consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Torii Ramirez, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Kaimana Coleman, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
Sage Creek was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .469. They are 6-2 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Torrey Pines waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Mavericks.
Torrey Pines pushed their record up to 13-8 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Sage Creek, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-9-1 record this season.
Sage Creek might still be hurting after the 17-3 loss they got from Torrey Pines in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Will the Bobcats have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
