Softball Recap: Karns Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Karns extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping their season record up to 20-10 in the process. They put the hurt on the Carter Green Hornets with a sharp 14-4 victory. The Beavers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 matchups by six runs or more this season.

As for Carter, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. They have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

For Carter's part, Ryleigh Allen was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Another player making a difference was Marah Yeo, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Karns will square off against Oak Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Carter, they will challenge Cocke County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Green Hornets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Fighting Cocks have averaged an impressive 10.9 runs per game this season.
