It was a good run, but the Campbell Spartans unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 73-66 hit to the loss column at the hands of Palm Bay. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Friday (57), Campbell still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, Campbell still got an impressive performance from Brooke Suttle, who scored 25 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Suttle scored a full 37.9% of Campbell's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Saniya Binion, who scored 18 points.
Leading Palm Bay to victory were Jaida Civil and Kiara Williams. Civil scored 23 points along with eight rebounds and three steals, while Williams dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds. The game was Civil's third in a row with at least ten points. Natalie Allen was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five rebounds.
Campbell's loss dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Palm Bay, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.
Campbell will head out on the road to face off against Carrollton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Palm Bay's road trip will continue as they head out to face West Shore at 7:00 p.m. on January 11th.
