With a playoff win on the line, South River rose to the challenge on Thursday. They walked away with a 57-45 win over Decatur. Winning may never get old, but South River sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Decatur lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jonathan Purnell, who posted seven points in addition to seven boards and three steals. That's the most steals he has posted since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Judah Carmack, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.

South River's victory bumped their record up to 23-3. As for Decatur, with the loss, they broke their 11-game winning streak and moved their record to 22-4.

Looking ahead, South River will square off against Milford Mill Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in South River's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. Decatur does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
