The Catalina Trojans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. The New Year welcomed they with a 83-13 whooping from The Gregory School. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Catalina has scored all season.
Among those leading the charge was Ben Head, who scored 20 points along with six assists and five steals. Those 20 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Devin Dawson, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
Catalina's loss was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-9. As for The Gregory School, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Catalina will face off against Sabino at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sabino has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 416 points over their last six contests. The Gregory School won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Benson at 7:00 p.m. on January 4th. Benson will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 255th, while The Gregory School is ranked 87th).
