On Friday, Grapevine was beaten by Amarillo 67-25. While losing is never fun, Grapevine can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 752nd, while Amarillo is ranked 15th).
Grapevine's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Aaron Sowell, who scored 9 points. Sowell scored a full 36% of Grapevine's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dillon Lowack, who scored 7 points.
Grapevine's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Amarillo, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-2.
Grapevine is on the road again on Friday and play against Midlothian at 7:30 p.m. on December 1st. As for Amarillo, they will face off against Bowie at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
