The Klein Cain Hurricanes will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Tomball Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Klein Cain has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Even though Waller scored an imposing 59 points on Friday, Klein Cain still came out on top. Klein Cain was the clear victor by a 80-59 margin over the Bulldogs. Given Klein Cain's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 146th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 949th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
John Clark continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 20 rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted nine or more rebounds the last 13 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jeremiah Wotten, who scored 16 points along with two steals.
Even though Tomball has not done well against the Tigers recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Tomball secured a 62-58 W over the Tigers. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Klein Cain is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matches, which provided a massive bump to their 15-12 record this season. As for Tomball, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 16-14.
Klein Cain didn't have too much breathing room in their match against the Cougars when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 72-66 victory. Will Klein Cain repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
