The Monrovia Wildcats fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat Polytechnic 54-22 at home. The result was nothing new for Monrovia, who have now won three contests by 30 points or more so far this season.
Brian Salazar Jr continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 105 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries, while also throwing for 273 yards and two touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes. Noah Ellison was another key contributor, picking up 125 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Monrovia is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. As for Polytechnic, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Monrovia will challenge San Marino at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. San Marino is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games. As for Polytechnic, they will head out on the road to face off against South Pasadena at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. South Pasadena presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Polytechnic in California (South Pasadena is ranked 328th, while Polytechnic is ranked 737th).
