The West Plains Wolves are on the road again on Friday and play against the Glen Rose Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on December 1st. West Plains knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine matchups -- so hopefully Glen Rose likes a good challenge.
West Plains had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Everything went their way against Monahans on Friday as West Plains made off with a 42-21 victory. West Plains might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won nine matches by 21 points or more this season.
West Plains relied on the efforts of REID MACON, who threw for 267 yards and three touchdowns while completing 82.1% of his passes, and JORDI HERNANDEZ, who rushed for 134 yards and a touchdown. HERNANDEZ is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played. KYRON WOOTEN also helped out with an impressive 98 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, Glen Rose waltzed into Friday's match with seven straight wins but they left with eight. They enjoyed a cozy 48-34 victory over Seminole. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Glen Rose's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Josiah Groeneweg led the charge by picking up 137 receiving yards and a touchdown, while also punching in a rushing scores. The team also got some help courtesy of Camden Raymond, who gained 115 total yards and two touchdowns.
Another reason for the win was Glen Rose's imposing defensive line, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. Seminole's QB won't forget Groeneweg anytime soon given Groeneweg sacked him twice.
Their wins bumped West Plains to 12-1 and Monahans to 12-1.
