Bedford had lost four straight at home dating back to last season, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 3-8 to make it five. They came up short against the Lorain Titans, falling 18-8. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Titans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-7 on April 7th.

Kimora Conley was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Yandeliz Rosario was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
As for Lorain, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. Considering they have won ten contests by more than eight runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
On Lorain's side, Olivia Charlton made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off ten hits. Charlton was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in March.
In other batting news, Alysandria Lighty was a standout: she got on base in three of her five plate appearances with six stolen bases and three runs. Those six stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jayla King, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bedford will square off against Garfield Heights at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 19.17 runs per game on average), something the Bearcats will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Lorain, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Maple Heights at 5:00 p.m.
