Newport Central Catholic will be up against a hot Ludlow squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Everything went the Panthers' way against Bellevue on Wednesday as they made off with a 17-4 win. Considering the Panthers have won six games by more than nine runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Evie Orsua was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over six innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits. Orsua was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.
