Even though the Howard Huskies scored an imposing 56 points on Tuesday, the Westside Seminoles still came out on top. Westside took their game against Howard 69-56. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Westside.
Joshua Harden continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 32 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. The game was his eighth in a row with at least ten points. Marcus Hood was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with three steals.
Westside pushed their record up to 10-4 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.4 points per game. As for Howard, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Westside won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Rutland at 7:30 p.m. on January 3rd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Georgia (Rutland is ranked 222nd, while Westside is ranked 230th). As for Howard, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mary Persons at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mary Persons has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 8.
