Parker is a perfect 10-0 against Huffman since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Parker Thundering Herd will be taking part in a tournament against the Huffman Vikings at 12:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Parker turned things around against Wenonah on Friday. Everything went their way against the Dragons as they made off with a 20-1 victory. That 19 run margin sets a new team best for the Thundering Herd this season.
Conellrious Scott was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time he hasn't allowed a single hit over his last seven contests. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-3. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Micheal Mincey was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Parker is undefeated when Mincey posts two or more stolen bases, but 3-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Kasey Harris II, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-1.
Parker always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .655. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Huffman, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 12-4 margin over Woodlawn on Friday. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Colonels recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
The team relied heavily on Mekhidric Jackson, who scored two runs and stole Four bases. while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Dylan Craig was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
The victory got Huffman back to even at 5-5. As for Parker, their win bumped their record up to 6-7.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Parker has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Huffman struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Parker's way against Huffman in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, as Parker made off with a 10-0 victory. Will Parker repeat their success, or does Huffman have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
