The Drake/Anamoose Raiders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by Westhope/Newburg at home and fell 77-41. While losing is never fun, Drake/Anamoose can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 112th, while Westhope/Newburg is ranked 15th).
It was another big night for Walker Braaten, who shot 8-for-15 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double on 41 points and 11 rebounds for Westhope/Newburg. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Braaten has scored all season. Braden Bailey was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Drake/Anamoose's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Westhope/Newburg, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Harvey the next time they take the court. Westhope/Newburg will host Harvey at 5:45 p.m. on Friday, while Drake/Anamoose will head out to face them at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
