The New Glarus Glarner Knights put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Lakeside Lutheran by a score of 60-47. Given New Glarus' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 14th, while Lakeside Lutheran is ranked 126th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Several Warriors players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Paige Murphy, who scored 15 points along with 8 rebounds. Kieghtan Rank was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
New Glarus' victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Lakeside Lutheran, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. New Glarus will face off against Lancaster at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lancaster comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Lakeside Lutheran, they will head out on the road to face off against Mount Horeb at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
