Hylton and Woodbridge are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2018, but likely not for long. The Bulldogs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hylton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.9 runs per game this season.
Hylton's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Massaponax with a sharp 10-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won ten games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Alanis Layne was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
In other batting news, Alexandra Newton was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Jasmine Hernandez was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, Woodbridge came up short against Mountain View on Wednesday and fell 7-4. The Vikings have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.
Mya Foster made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Hylton pushed their record up to 12-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Woodbridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.
Friday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Hylton has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .507. However, it's not like Woodbridge struggles in that department as they've averaged .445. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Hylton took their win against Woodbridge in their previous meeting back in April by a conclusive 15-7 score. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Vikings turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
