Orange Grove is 7-0 against West Oso since November of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Orange Grove Bulldogs will be playing at home against the West Oso Bears at 7:30 p.m. The timing is sure in Orange Grove's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while West Oso has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
Orange Grove pushed their score all the way to 33 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were outmatched by Sinton on the road and fell 62-33. Orange Grove was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-25.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Logan Rodriguez, who rushed for 84 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 256 yards and a touchdown. Another player making a difference was Aidan Yeatman, who picked up 136 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Even if they lost, Orange Grove's defensive line still kept up the pressure with four sacks. Leading the way was Landon Chandler and his three sacks.
Meanwhile, West Oso was the victim of a rough 34-13 defeat at the hands of Robstown on Thursday.
The losses dropped Orange Grove to 4-3 and West Oso to 1-7.
Everything came up roses for Orange Grove against West Oso in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 as the team secured a 66-33 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was West Oso's Elijah Huff, who rushed for 238 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.9 yards per carry. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be that much easier for Orange Grove to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
