Volleyball Recap: Excelsior Classical Academy Wins Going Away Against Triangle Math & Science + How To Watch

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Falls Lake, Excelsior Classical Academy was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Triangle Math & Science Tigers as they made off with a 3-0 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Flying Lions, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

While Excelsior Classical Academy won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-17, 25-23.

Excelsior Classical Academy found their leader in freshman Alejandra Orozco, who had six digs and five aces. Orozco also set a new season-high mark in assists with 22.

Excelsior Classical Academy now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Triangle Math & Science, they dropped their record down to 0-5 with the defeat, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Excelsior Classical Academy and Vance Charter will shake off the rust and duke it out at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Knights will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Flying Lions surely won't give up without a fight. As for Triangle Math & Science, they are taking a road trip to take on NCSSM: Durham at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
