This season hasn't been kind to the Sacred Heart Gremlins, who are still winless after their 11th game. They were beaten by Macks Creek 81-10 on Tuesday. Sacred Heart was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 55-6.
Despite the defeat, Sacred Heart saw an underclassman step up: Bailee Vogel scored eight points.
Macks Creek's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Addison Ratliff, who shot 6-for-9 from long range and dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten assists. That's the first time this season that Ratliff posted eight or more assists. Another player making a difference was India Willis, who scored 21 points along with five assists and four steals.
Sacred Heart's defeat was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-11. As for Macks Creek, the win (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 12-1.
Sacred Heart will head out on the road to face off against St. Paul Lutheran at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Macks Creek, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Walnut Grove at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Walnut Grove is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games.
